The BSS 2h heavy attack is a bit more useful than the uchi's. The uchi has stronger dex scaling where the BSS needs a bit more strength to get to reach similar AR.

Any weapon can take you through the entire game with the right build. Yours sounds perfectly fine for endgame so if you like using uchi you can stick with it. +15 on any weapon with B scaling or higher while you have 40 in the scaling stat is endgame damage.

i have a 4+ rapier and found the blacksmith that sells the uchi. i used the uchigatana in ds1 and it was good but idk if its the same for ds2 or if its better than the rapier. Rapier is Broken, you can finish the game just using rapiers, use the stone ring that makes you able to break the enemies' poise more easily = easy game.
