Ithaca M37 Barrel lug removal. I have a 1960 Ithaca M 37 that I purchased an 8 round magazine tube for. I'm having a heck of a time trying to figure out how to remove that lug from the barrel to move it forward on the barrel. Redfield made one specifically for the 37 Ithica #551001, which was designed to deal with the recoil. Sadly they are no longer marketed, and used ones are far and few between. I believe Ithica used this mount as a factory option at one time on the Deerslayer. I had some heavy duty 11mm airgun scope rings that fit. It worked out pretty good.

'Course, they were made in Ithaca, NY about 50 miles from where I live. If your 16 gauge model 37R is all original and in very good to excellent condition, retail value would be in the $400 - $500 range.

Because of the way the barrel mates with the end of the mag tube, longer magazines aren't really practical so the SOS was a pistol grip version with the barrel cut off even with the end of the mag tube.ITHACA.
