I tried a multiple of things and my game STILL crashes. When I launch the game, the top window for Gshade says “compiling shaders” it’ll get to a shader and then freeze and crash.Functionally nothing. Same as virtually any program you install. Whether you install gshade, ACT, FFXIV itself, or some email client or media player, you're placing your trust in the creator that they will only do what is necessary to deliver what the programs claim to. They all rely on your trust to get installed.
