The Wasp is aluminum and some peoples testing has shown it survive more extremes than the SMSc. The SMSc has a polymer lens and body, the Wasp has aluminum and glass. So far I like the wasp on my RDP. Ive never seen an RDP without a red dot included, but if I was going that route Id just get the OSP model and buy my own red dot.
