It really depends on the offset of the wheels (wheel spacers typically will make the tires to have more serious rubbing problem, unless you have factory wheels).

My tundra is a 01 AC TRD, MB 72 wheels 16x8.5 and a -6 offset, BS of 4.5. I am currently running a Rancho quick lift with 2.5" of lift with the rs9000's, out back is a AAL and Firestone air bags. You do not need gears. 4.88 with 35s means a shorter final drive ratio than stock. 4.88 with 37s means a longer final drive ration than stock. Its really just personal preference.
