I am a big guy with a big windshield, too. Lean isn't the key to better fuel mileage. Getting the bikes most efficient horsepower will help.

Even if you were running rich you wouldn't get 20 MPG. Put cardboard under your bike where ever you have it parked. See if anything is leaking. That leaves 2.83 gallons available before you have to hit the reserve.
