On the existing TBI; the distance from the cruise cable to the throttle plate centerline must be maintained when connecting the cable to the Qjet. I would go that route first. Getting a carburetor to run perfect requires carburetor-specific knowledge and a fair bit of artistry. A stock EFI on a stock motor is incredibly easy to get running right - if every part works. Setting up EFI to work on a non-stock motor requires system-specific knowledge and expensive tools. You're going to need a bypass fuel pressure regulator.You can use the stock pump if you use a Fuel pressure regulator. TBI operates at around 12-15 psi and a carb runs around 4-6psi. The edelbrock 600 would work but i would stay away from edelbrock carbs,stick to holy carbs.
