Anomaly/EFP is more "mainstream" in terms of gameplay and difficulty, BUT if you like it- then go right ahead! Revealed a white stash close to ranger station and happened to be expert tools. I hope you find it soon, or that gamma adds a craft to make expert tools like the advanced ones. Good Hunting ... First time I got expert tools it took me 15 ish hours. However on my subsequent play throughs I managed to find one just around 10 hours, and even 5 on monolith. Hey, there is a mod called "DoctorX Call of The Zone" in which he made it so that tools become fetch quest with a location. I think that's the best approach. No more looking through all the stashes, just go to x place and get them. I tried to read through the code and find this piece, but no luck.2. Since advanced tools requaires 4 basic ones, i just searched for 8 advanced tools and crafted it as soon as i found the last one. I found like 13 of advanced one at before spawning it. Most of them i gived to technicians in hope getting stash coordinates but i gave up after 30 or even 40 stashes.I guess if you need to sprint in an Exo, it could be an issue. You can craft an advanced toolkit, but it requires 5 basic toolkits to make an advanced one. I suggest looking in stashes in yantar, wild territory, darkscape, or army warehouses for the advanced toolkits. Search red forest and anything north of red forest for expert toolkits. I found my first expert toolkit in a stash in radar.

But you will need a tool set like basic/advanced/expert to put fabric pieces into an armor. With just an armor repair kit, you can only fix it above 50% or whatnot. Toolsets are found in stashes. Better stashes in more dangerous areas. If you're just looking to be able to upgrade weapons and armor, you can do it with the mechanic on Skadovsk without bringing him any toolkits. You can however use Advanced Tools and an incredibly expensive recipe to create the Exo Repair Kit.
