if you put folder named "dcac9927" insted of yours, you need to rename it to your original folder name. If you put folder named "05" it just replaces number 5 save slot inside the game. You can find it down the save list. Also if you can't find needed save file just look at date. (sorry for my bad english)

I am not too familiar with zelda, but if the game says it "overwrites" or "deletes" the save files, then your previous saves do not exist, since the game deletes your old saves and replaces them with the new data. The only thing I can think of to help is to find a mod/hack to give you a save before the boss.
