The bladesinger will be able to fight in melee. Under the bladesong, you'll have decent AC and it'll be hard to keep you from concentrating. You're not going to be as good a fighter as a fighter, but you'll be a much better fighter than most wizards, and a better wizard than an eldritch knight or arcane trickster.

I believe that the tashas changes are retroactive. Like the changes t GFB and BB over-wrote the old changes. I have both the scag and tashas, but I only have the tasha's version of the spells (not entirely true, I saved the originals as homebrew before they were changed).

If you don't want to multiclass I'd say use false life to buff up your hp. Feat wise obviously warcaster, resilient for dex or con saves and mobile for moving around in combat.
