Jul 23, 2013 · I gradually dilated the rest of the pregnancy but he didn't come out till 38 1/2 weeks (yay!) the last 3 weeks I was 5 cm dilated & 50% effaced! That was awful walking around like that for 3 weeks! I was 90% effaced and 1cm dilated at 36 weeks and my dd was born at 38 weeks. When I arrived at the hospital, two days later, I was 100% effaced and 5cm dilated. You can walk around for weeks fully effaced and slightly dilated. Lot of people are 1-2 cm dilated at 34-35 weeks. Don't panic. Many people carry on full term without problems. Bed rest really dosent help at this stage but if you feel it will go ahead. Your doctor is just being extra cautious. Why the cansoft though ? Do you have any infection in vagina?
