The King's Ultra does strike damage. It's functionally a greathammer and lacks the tremendous reach of the best greathammers. I'd rather use (say) a Dragon Tooth though the King's Ultra will generally out-damage it. In the end I usually opt for the Greatsword. It's good. It's available and easy to upgrade.
