If I move up to 25 ft, the groupings increase to 2.5" to 3.5".

I've had a Kimber Micro .380 for about 2 years now. It has always been very accurate and reliable, save for needing a new mag catch which Kimber provided awhile back. Yesterday I was giving it some exercise when suddenly the slide locked up halfway open. I can pull it back, but it will not go forward more than about half. The Kimber has a slightly lighter trigger than the Sig, so it's more in line with what would be termed a defensive trigger. While it is no measure in ounces, breathe on it and if fires, target gun trigger; it is much better than my former S&W 380, the LCP, the Kahr, just about any pocket gun I've handled and only slightly edging out the Sig in that regard.

I've had mainly loading issues with my M380 so I will follow your progress on this thread. My micro has been back to Kimber twice and it's almost problem free now after 1600 rounds.
