You can beat the game with it. Guan Yu’s Exclusive Weapon Level 20 is the sweetspot for Guan Yu for me unless you want to use him heavily for cheesing. The think is triggering the condition to reset his energy needs him to kill an enemy with his ultimate and normally you only do that against summon-heavy teams or once per battle, so investing in the full Level 30 exclusive skill is a little overkill in my opinion..

If I remember correctly it was a bit stronger before 1.0 before certain things were added (I don't remember actually having lifesteal on anything but Guan Yu until 1.0 or the patch before), and I remember the special actually had it's hit box nerfed, although that might have been reversed because people complained about Guan Yu being completely pointless.

Guan Yu has a really strong special that becomes absurd when paired with the charged skewer Daedalus hammer upgrade. I’m talking 400+ damage per hit. Then just pick up either Artemis or Aphrodite for your special and you got a build. Just stay out of danger because Guan Yu’s completely unnecessary health cut will get you killed.
